3 NEW CHARACTER POSTERS FOR ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA’

I have not been bashful about my unbridled, slobbering passion when it comes to Captain America: The First Avenger. My expectations for this Marvel adaptation are sky-high, and these three new character posters for the film have only reinforced that enthusiasm. The images are the best looks we’ve had so far of Captain America, The Red Skull, and Sharon Carter. I would love to see character posters for Bucky and Dum Dum Dugan as well, but I’m sure they’ll be forthcoming. Click on the thumbnails for glorious hi-res versions! Captain America is in theaters on July 22 (Fuck you, Michael Bay, for stealing the July 4 release date for your shitty Transformers sequel!).

FIRST IMAGE OF TOM HARDY AS BANE REVEALED

The Dark Knight had some of the best viral marketing in movie history, and now it looks as if that mysterious stuff is going to continue with the final Christopher Nolan Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Warner Bros. opened the official website at thedarkknightrises.com, and if you head there, you’ll see a pixellated image of a figure. The code was cracked earlier today by some fans, and here is the image in all its glory (click image for hi-res version):

It’s our first glimpse of Tom Hardy as Bane, and it seems as if Nolan is going for a real “maniacal caged animal” look  for the character. I’m sure we’re in store for a lot more of these enigmatic images and viral tomfoolery for the next year. The Dark Knight Rises opens in June, 2012.

NEW FULL-LENGTH ‘THOR’ TRAILER IS AWESOME, DESPITE KAT DENNINGS

Unfortunately, I cannot embed the awesome new Thor trailer here for you, because WordPress doesn’t support the Yahoo! Movies video player, but click on the image above and you’ll be magically transported to the majestic kingdom of Asgard, where Thor and Odin do battle with terrifying Frost Giants, and then to Earth, where Natalie Portman looks cute, Chris Hemsworth walks around shirtless a lot, and Kat Dennings makes painfully awkward Facebook references.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT – BUBBLE DUB VIDEO

Okay, so my guildies and I have been really bored with the past few months leading up to the release of Cataclysm material. We’ve worked on Ulduar Hard Modes, getting ICC Heroics and world achievements, but I can’t say we’ve done anything THIS constructive:

I’m impressed with the timing they managed to pull off, firstly, but secondly… WTF! I have four level 80 Alliance and I still get lost in Stormwind. I hate that city! So I am actually mostly impressed with their positioning, lol.

Massive kudos to Dark Endeavor of Durotan for this fun video. Music credit: Billy Joel.

GIFT THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON WOWING

I just hit Worldofwarcraft.com on my way to check out the forums and was completely blown away by the deal they’re having right now.

Check out this insanity! For $20 you can own the original vanilla WoW as well as the next two expansions. That’s three games, with thousands of hours worth of playtime, for the price of the first game!

There has never been a better time to start playing World of Warcraft, or to return to the game.  Azeroth just went up in flames last week with a major patch, giving us a ton of new stuff to play with, new and previously blocked off zones opened up to explore, a completely new 1-60 quest leveling experience, changes to race / class combinations and tons more.

Keep in mind you’ll still have to pay normal ($39.99) price for the expansion that’s coming out December 7th, but if you were curious about WoW, now’s the time to buy the old content you’ll need to play Cataclysm. This would also make a great gift for the holidays for someone you know who’s curious. Don’t forget, WoW also has a $15 monthly fee to play, so if you’re giving this as a gift, you might want to also consider a game card as part of your package.

Give the gift of WoW, or treat yourself! Come see Azeroth burn and help us fight Deathwing!
