Part occult thriller, part speed-demon road movie, Drive Angry is a neo-exploitation throwback that actually feels like it could’ve once been seen on the lower half of a 42nd Street double bill. Eschewing the faux-grindhouse stylistic tics (missing reels, scratched frames) and rehashed 70s-movie plotting similar “homages” too-often indulge, it instead serves up a heaping helping of the things any B-movie fan wants: badass antiheroes, naked babes, bloody violence, wild sex, sexy cars, Satanic cults, and ridiculous plotting all done without apology.

I’ve never heard of the movie The White Buffalo and chances are neither have you. It was made in 1977 by director J. Lee Thompson (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Guns of Navarrone, Happy Birthday to Me) and stars Charles Bronson as Wild Bill Hickox. I’m a big fan of all things weird, f’ed up and bizarre, so when a genuinely strange movie crosses my path, it becomes an automatic must see. I’ve been hearing good things about Quentin Dupieux’s film Rubber for a while and now that it’s gearing up for a VOD premiere-then-limited theatrical run (on Feb 25 and Apr 1, respectively) an official trailer for it has become available.
