LASERLINKS – 09/16/2011

(Ed. note – LaserLinks is a recap of the news bits, casting announcements, trailers, set pics, and other stories I didn’t get a chance to report on during the week. WARNING: Potential Spoilers ahead!)

The Dark Knight Rises:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks a little about his character and why you shouldn’t try to follow set reports or spoilers for the new Batman film.

That being said, here’s a crap-ton of set pics and videos from the film.

The Avengers:

A source close to the production confirms the rumored second mystery villain. Who could it be?

Here’s some fun, Herpy-Derpy pics of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johannsen, and other Avengers on set.

In this podcast, Clark Gregg  reveals that he will finally get to kick some ass as Agent Coulson.

Amazing Spider-Man:

Rhys Ifans discusses portraying The Lizard, and how much we can expect to see his full, CGI form in the finished film.

Superman: The Man of Steel:

Michael Shannon won’t just be doing a Terrence Stamp impression for his version of General Zod.

Here’s the first look at the new Daily Planet.

Set pics of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent (sans glasses).

Miscellaneous:

Harrison Ford was offered, and subsequently turned down the Alan Grant role in Jurassic Park?

Want to see what Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges look like in R.I.P.D.?

Oh joy, the Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part I trailer:

HAPPY STAR WARS BLU-RAY DAY!

So, if you haven’t heard by now, those Star Wars movies are out on Blu-ray today. There’s the full box set of all six films with a bonus special features disc for $80, and box sets for each trilogy at $40 a pop. I’m not cool enough to get a screener copy sent to me for free yet, so I don’t have a review for you. If you want to read an extremely thorough, well-written review of the set, there is no better place to go than The Digital Bits. May the Force Be With You!
