In a recent interview, director Christopher Nolan stated that the upcoming Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, would be his last:

“I must say that I’m glad — I’m very, very glad — to be embarking on the last chapter of our Batman saga without any sense of obligation or duty to the studio. They did very well with Inception. So I’m able to go into finishing our story in a very enthusiastic way.”

I think it was fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain that after The Dark Knight made a billion dollars for Warner Brothers, Nolan and Bale would be back for one last trip to Gotham to wrap up a trilogy, so this isn’t exactly Earth-shattering news. However, the script to this damn thing has been done for quite some time now, so it’d be nice if we could get some info on who the villain is or where the storyline is headed with basically all of Batman’s primary antagonists (Joker, Ra’s, Two-Face) out of the picture. About Jeff Carter

Jeff began his path towards Geek destiny at the age of four, at a drive-in screening of Star Wars. Since then, he's had a love affair with all things nerdy. In the mid to late 90's, Jeff was a staff writer for EchoStation.Com, interviewing Star Wars heavyweights like Timothy Zahn and Drew Struzan. He then went on to review films and write editorial pieces for several blogs in the mid 2000's, wrote and co-created a webcomic strip that ran from 2007-2010, and is currently co-founder of Dead Henchmen Productions, an independent film company based in New England.
