Uh-oh, bad news for fans of the Sci-Fi “Alien Invasion” genre this weekend, as ‘Skyline’ finishes a distant third to Dreamworks’ CGI-Animated ‘Megamind’ and Tony Scott’s latest train-fetish film, ‘Unstoppable’.

I haven’t seen ‘Skyline’ yet, but I thought the trailers all looked very cool, especially the scenes of thousands of bodies being vacuumed up into huge alien spaceships. However, the reviews have been overwhelmingly negative, (currently garnering only a 10% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes), and it looks like the Strause brothers have another dud on their hands after the dismal Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem. I may have a late review of this film posted on Monday, look out for it.

About Jeff Carter

Jeff began his path towards Geek destiny at the age of four, at a drive-in screening of Star Wars. Since then, he's had a love affair with all things nerdy. In the mid to late 90's, Jeff was a staff writer for EchoStation.Com, interviewing Star Wars heavyweights like Timothy Zahn and Drew Struzan. He then went on to review films and write editorial pieces for several blogs in the mid 2000's, wrote and co-created a webcomic strip that ran from 2007-2010, and is currently co-founder of Dead Henchmen Productions, an independent film company based in New England.

  1. It didn’t really bomb. It made 11 mil on a total budget of 10 mil. So, its already profitable. Early word from my peeps is that it’s god awful…but with a pedigree like “FROM THE CREATORS OF AVP:RECTUM” what could go wrong?
